Meet the Team

Dr. Megan LeFave

Owner, DVM, CCRT, cVMA

Dr. Megan grew up in a small town where her passion for animals was nurtured. She was an active member of the local 4-H, she grew up riding and showing horses and raised backyard farm animals. After high school, Dr. Megan attended Cal Poly Pomona where she obtained a Bachelors’s Degree in Animal Science. While at Cal Poly, she was active on the equestrian team and lived at the W.K. Kellogg Horse Center, where she volunteered her time helping to deliver foals and taking care of the large horse herd.

In 2008 Dr. Megan graduated from UC Davis Veterinary School. She originally wanted to expand her passion for horses and sports medicine and participated in an equine internship in rural Nevada. Following her internship, she decided to take her career in another direction and participated in a mentorship program at East Valley Emergency Pet Clinic receiving advanced training in small animal emergency medicine and critical care. Dr. Megan feels that being there for an owner when their pet is critical is very important, and helping an animal recover from an emergency situation is incredibly rewarding.

While working at the emergency clinic, Dr. Megan decided to use her knowledge of equine sports medicine and started attending courses for canine rehabilitation. In 2014 she opened the first Canine Rehabilitation Center in her town. Dr. Megan wanted to help animals live long, healthy, and pain-free life that allowed them to participate in the activities they loved!

Dr. Megan and her husband moved to Middleton in 2017 and they love being part of the community. She feels extremely lucky to also be part of the Treasure Valley Veterinary community. Dr. Megan worked at WestVet as the Canine Rehabilitation Vet and also as an emergency veterinarian. She is very excited to provide veterinary care through OnPoint Middleton hospital.

When Dr. Megan is not working or riding her horses she enjoys spending time hiking or going camping with her husband and their German Shorthaired Pointer’s Ginny and Franny.

Dr. Megan is looking forward to meeting you and to helping keep your pet on the path to wellness!

Dr. Desirée FitzGerald

DVM

Desirée FitzGerald is an Idaho native who grew up in Eagle. She graduated Cum Laude from the College of Idaho with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology & Anthropology/Sociology. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with academic honors. She went on to complete a one-year internship for advanced training in Albuquerque, New Mexico at VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center before coming back home to Idaho where she worked as an emergency clinician at WestVet Emergency and Specialty Center for over ten years.

“Growing up in the Eagle countryside I was surrounded by animals. We owned horses, cats, dogs, turtles, fish, rabbits, and even a goat named Gandhi,” she said. “I was the child that wanted to be a veterinarian. My family laughs because in almost every picture of me as a child I have a pet posing with me.” As she grew up and went through school she had an affinity for the sciences. This combined with her compassion for people and animals, and love of pets made veterinary school a natural path. During vet school, she also tackled the painful topic of pet loss. Dr. FitzGerald had additional training working closely with a grief counselor and served as manager of the WSU Pet Loss Hotline for three years.

She is excited to be able to meet your pet’s needs as your primary care provider. Having experience in an emergency she understands how stressful it can be when your pet is sick or injured and she wants to be there from puppy wellness exams, to end of life decisions as your pet’s age, and everything in between. When not practicing medicine she stays very busy at home with her husband and daughter on their farm. They love gardening, raising cows, chickens, and goats. When not on the farm she can be found in the mountains hiking (sometimes with her goats!) and loves international travel and scuba diving!

She is very excited to be a part of the OnPoint team and looking forward to being your veterinarian!

Dr. Alexandra Frost

DVM

Dr. Frost is originally from New Jersey but she has always had a deep connection to the west and has made her way back to Idaho!

Dr. Frost graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Small Animal Science from the small agricultural school Delaware Valley University. She then attended the University of Missouri obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree along with academic honors.

Her academic journey continued as she completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at WestVet, here in the Treasure Valley. After finishing her internship, Dr. Frost spent time in Colorado practicing companion animal medicine before moving back to Idaho.

Dr. Frost is so happy to be back in Idaho and excited to meet the community. She enjoys providing high-quality care and helping your pet when in need. Dr. Frost is particularly fond of educating families on owning new puppies and kittens. She is very experienced in dentistry and is passionate about ensuring that your senior pet’s golden years are as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

When she’s not at work, Dr. Frost likes practicing paddle boarding, hiking, trying out the area’s many craft breweries, advancing her photography skills, and spending time with her friends, family, and pets. Dr. Frost loves to bring Rupert, her Golden Retriever along to any of her adventures when possible. When at home, she spends her time relaxing with her kitty, Charlie.
